"Thanks for the latest suggestions. The comments about Aragorn's appearance are duly noted; my reason for staying with the original Aragorn ( i.e. that derived from the illustrations by MacBride in the ICE books was to keep a recognisable distance from the image created by New Line cinema. but, yes he could be a little more weathered! As for the Easterling archer , I see him more as a Parthian or a Sythian. The Variags ( if I ever get around to making any ) are more similar to the Mongols". CT
This vote has 11 exciting ideas, but only one can win. The 2nd round starts on the 23rd of November and will have the top 3 or 4 suggestions in it. This is a blind vote so you will only see the current status of the vote AFTER you submit yours. This is to give all ideas an equal chance to get into the final.

well I voted for my Aragorn, I hope it'll get some support... I know many people are looking for orcish wolfrider.... but a charging mounted officer of the GOOD side(the most important one actually) is not something you'll see often.... and that concerns collectors, diorama builders and wargamers all along I suppose So please, vote for Aragorn and his last charge!

Wolfrider. Chris sculpts a superb yet simple wolf.....very unlike the goofy hollywood hyena blend. The collection and wargamers cry out for another wolf!

I don`t want to sound sourly, but it seems there is something with my suggestions that make them disappear...
What happened to "Merry blowing the Horn of Rohan"?

That is strange. Better ask Michael what happened.
Speaking of strange, how strange and wonderful is the sudden popularity of the Orc. Naturally I'm tempted to vote for the wolfrider (it is an excellent suggestion by Shadyt). However, an Orc winning two months in a row? That would be unprecedented! And that's the only reason I suggested something out of character for a change. I hope I'm wrong!

As for Chris Tubb's comment about distinguishing Easterlings from each other, let me first quote, please "The Variags (if I ever get around to making any) are more similar to the Mongols." Well, the M152 was named "Mounted Variag".

Something has happened to my yesterday´s comment. It vanished. I don´t know if my vote for Guthlaf was counted correctly because I don´t remember the number of votes for him right before I voted. I guess you´ll have the means to clear this, Michael? Or am I banned?

I am perplex and well somehow happy at the same time... Though it seems my Aragorn idea does not get a lot of attention... the Ganfalf and Gwaihir does. Maybe the fact his wings are not spread makes the difference, as the last time I suggested it (last "mounted month") it was not reasonnable a choice and was striped from the suggestion that would be cool if this time it is possible.

hey collector fellows!
Cool.... the support for Gandalf and Gwaihir. I just was thinking, how will Gandalf look like AFTER the Battle with the Balrog....? What will have happened to his clothes? And does he has still his staff? Will they be rags? with his upper body some part bare?
That could be a really cool miniature.. and will surely get my support in the second round.
Or are the grey robes of Aman so full of magic protection to shield any damage or hurt from the Balrogs power?
I remember Mithrandir lay in a kind of unconsciousness on the mountain top.... His spirit travelling back to Valinor.... and he was send back from the Valars New life stirred in him and he was rescued by Gwaihir the Windlord, to be carried to Lothlorien, where he was robed in pure white. To become Gandalf the White.
Cheers and happy voting!

Well, its Guthlaff for me. And I hope he will get a BANNER, not a small a meagre pennon or pennant.

That's an interesting point HWolf. Personally, I imagined Gandalf resurrected as the White, fully rejuvenated and most eager to speak with his nemesis Saruman. On the other hand, as you pointed out, he could be made to look like the old Gandalf, even worn-out after his altercation with the demon.

Well, then at least the horn of Rohan is being blown, if not by Merry :-)
Though I assume that the horn Merry got as a present is not the battlehorn of Guthlaf - though I might be wrong. Is there anything out on that one?

Is there anything out on that one? Of course! After the funeral of Theoden, Eowyn gives Merry a small horn Old skillfully forged by the Dwarves in silver, with horsemen galloping in a descending spiral line from the nozzle to the pavilion, and runes fine virtues, and a baldric green, who blew him in an hour of need, arouse fear in the hearts of the enemies and joy in the friends, and they would hear and would come. This is used in the Battle of Bywater. On the other hand, Guthlaf horn was broken when Theoden asks him to blow at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields due to the force that blew the King of Rohan in ordering the Rohirrim charge
