The Mithril Fellowship has Evolved....
We have listened VERY carefully to you and decided on a more flexible and involved Fellowship that would allow us to produce your lotr ideas at a price you can easily afford.
Also I want feedback on our new figure 'MS423 Aragorn and the Palantir'. Personally I think it is a very detailed and beautiful figure. My friend Joe Fahey (long time Mithril painter and Fellowship Member) is painting one for me as we type (along with the new MX figure) so I will add the pics soon as I can.
So if you have ANY questions about this new club please post them HERE and we will clarify.
Remember to sign up before June 16th and Save 4 Euro.

Thanks, We hope so. It should please everyone. We want to stimulate all our collectors to get more involved. So tell your friends, your gaming partners, workmates and family about it. The more who join the better the results.
The new forum will be set up by June 16th, we set up your account and send you the password. You can always change the password later. The new figure really is great, and I am a the first to point out any problems, believe me. I cannot wait to see how Joe Fahey paints it. Remember to send me your versions of MS423 Aragorn too when you paint them. I would like to see how creative you can be. Make a diorama and I can see what figures you include.

I don't suppose someone could guesstimate a range for the cost of nine figs for the year? Some of us have tight budgets... How much would vignettes and box sets be? What kind of run will the figures have? (Or will that depend on how many people are members?) That eye is kinda freaky....a bit of a departure from the cartoon dude.

Hello there, i find the idea of this gold membership a GREAT one but I have two important questions : - does it replace the "Mithril MX" project (it is somewhat alike in a far better way according to me) or is the Mx project still maintained? - I am french, and have been member of the fellowship from Prince August France for a long time. Still there somekind of a commercial "embargo" concerning Mithril in France which can only be purchased via Prince August FRANCE retailers and not directly from Mithril itself... For the GOLD membership can i BYPASS this process and ask for an update of my account directly in the original mithril and order the collector figurines the same way I do for the Christmas ones? Thanks for the answer (if you can find someone who can answer it

I think it's a very very good idea ;D. I'm there with bells on . I also think the Aragorn figure is inspired - but raises some very interesting questions - how to paint a Palantir . Nice work team mithril ;D.

We cannot guess the costs over the year as the figures going to be made are up to you to vote and decide on. We will try to keep the cost as low as possible. The more that join the better the deals we can offer. We will make a limited amount depending on the amount of membership we have. I was just trying our the eye thing, I will change it when I have a moment.

The mx series offers you the opportunity to directly design any LOTR mini you can imagine and we will make it. The Fellowship requires a majority of voting each month to make the figure. The policy for the French Mithril suppliers website does not apply for the Fellowship as the custom figures are not available through prince-august.net. You can order them from the Mithril site using a direct link to the Fellowship page. The Forums don't divert anyway. If you want to have a permanent order set up through mailorder then that certainly can be arranged. We are highly flexible. We will streamline the process as much as we can.

Just out of curiousity, can one purchase the nine figures required to maintain the membership in one or two orders? Shipping is a killer overseas.

Just out of curiousity, can one purchase the nine figures required to maintain the membership in one or two orders? Shipping is a killer overseas. As long as you buy at least 9 individual new figures during that membership year you are OK. If you want to purchase 6 together at the end of 6 months then thats perfectly OK, then get the rest sometime before the end of the year. Or get the lot in the 11 month. The numbers bought DO NOT carry over. So purchasing 12 one year and 7 another year will not work. Figures previously released in past years can be bought anytime but do not count towards the total, only those produced during that membership year.

Gold Status is a better idea than the MX project, however I understand there will be a lot of collectors still disappointed because they cannot afford the membership figures and they will be left with a gap in their collection. I suggest you should start the numbering of the membership figures from 1 again, so the normal M range will not have gaps that should be filled with 'special' figures. That way people collecting only the M range will still have a complete collection. That concerns the MX figures to ! For those loyal collectors that can afford a little more, it certainly is a great idea ! (BTW it's the same Palantir as the one with MC17 Saruman)

Would it be possible to have an email sent in, say, the last month of the membership or something like that, reminding how many more figures need to be purchased to maintain membership? Some of us have bad memories.

Great! Still great. The more I think about the new fellowship the more I like it. The "old" fellowship was quite sleepy and the new one seems to be very active. I have no problem with buying these 9 miniatures per year. Lots of money is spent due to things like alcohol or cigarettes, so I won't drink so much beer in future and save the money for my hobby ;D In comparison ti the MX project the new GOLD fellowship is my favourite and I am excited about the new figures coming (monthly?). Additionaly the fellowship figures are indeed more affordable than the MX series!

:)Good idea!! I'm a new french member because I didn't know the old fellowship. By chance I discovered the gold status last week on the web and I'm very excited by this. I can't wait for the 16th! (Sorry for the grammar, I have to improve my english knowledge.) laurent

Great idea! I'm all for anything that keeps Mithrl going with new figures. Looking forward to getting several new figures a year and like the idea of being able to submit ideas and vote!

Just got my order (missing some things *cough*) but, I really just had to say:
Aragorn with Palantir is one of the most beautiful miniatures I have ever laid eyes on. From the detail, to the quality of the sculpt, the character on the face...wow. All wow.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I have no clue where the character could be used - some sort of diorama of the Rohirrim camp at night with sentries guarding the king or something, but...wow.
It's a treasure. Joining the Gold Fellowship was worth it for this mini alone.
Gavin

"Looks like meat's back on the menu boys...." to quote from the film.
Re the last post, I too have just received the Aragorn figure and would totally agree that it is a beautiful piece.
As to the idea of the Gold status, this is a much more realistic idea than the 'design your own' range (I have just taken delivery of the Fram figure, which although expensive is again a lovely figure) and I hope goes from strength to strength - collectors could even band together and 'rig' the vote, perish the thought, to get ideas pushed through.
This has got to be the next best thing to being the actual designer of the figures themselves.
On a different note regarding another thread elsewhere about packaging problems with the Aragorn figure, mine too had a sword at right angles due to the figure being fairly loose in the blister. I guess a bit more foam would solve the problem. In this case all was well and it bent back into shape ok.
Gold gets my vote.
David.

'Twas nothing a little bend back into the right shape couldn't mend - I got Aragorn and Fram this week and I'll back what dcd and Aelfwine have said - they are just phenomenal - I'm a little scared to paint 'em, in case I don't do them justice! They most definitely rock
