Hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick's day on Sunday. I appreciate we had a delay in the start of the vote, but we can still do the double rounds this month so 'no big deal'. The list was received from Chris Tubb today and no idea was dropped. You have one vote per member and the status of the poll is hidden until after you vote. Please include a comment on why you chose to support one idea over another, to help promote conversations. We start the final round on the 26th.

Half-Orc of Isengard climbing a ladder, holding in his left hand his shield over his head for protection. He is wearing chain mail and a helmet. His sword is still in the sheath. There is single handed axe on a rope, hanging off his right wrist.

Resuggestion: A figure of Baldor, son of Brego, standing alive in fine Rohirrim clothes at the Great Hall Meduseld, draining his large drinking horn, as he made his fateful vow.
Baldor’s fateful vow at Meduseld
Baldor also known as Baldor the Hapless, was the oldest son of Brego, 2nd King of Rohan, and brother of Aldor, 3rd King of Rohan. He was said to have passed along the Paths of the Dead, through the Dark Door under Dwimorberg. King Theoden said "A rash vow he spoke, as he drained the horn at the feast which Brego made to hallow new-built Meduseld, and he never came to the high seat of which he was the heir“.
After passing through the Dark Door to the Paths of the Dead, Aragorn found somewhere in a cave the bones of a mighty man. He had been clad in mail, and still his harness lay there whole; for the cavern's air was as dry as dust, and his hauberk was gilded. His belt was of gold and garnets, and rich with gold was the helm upon his bony head face downward on the floor. He had fallen near the far wall of the cave, as now could be seen, and before him stood a stony door closed fast: his finger-bones were still clawing at the cracks. A notched and broken sword lay by him, as if he had hewn at the rock in his last despair. Aragorn did not touch him, but after gazing silently for a while he rose and sighed. 'Hither shall the flowers of simbelmynë come never unto world's end,' he murmured. 'Nine mounds and seven there are now green with grass, and through all the long years he has lain at the door that he could not unlock. Whither does it lead? Why would he pass? None shall ever know!’
This was, presumably, Baldor.
In an unfinished essay, Tolkien expanded upon Baldor's fate, stating that he made it as far as the door (which led to an old temple built by men who worshipped Sauron) before unknown enemies broke his legs, leaving him to die in the darkness.

Cultirith RangerThe Rangers of Dol Cultirith The Cultirith (S. "Bronze Guard") was formed by Eldacar, heir to the throne of Arnor, in III 159 to encourage the native Hillmen of Rhudaur to enter his service. The unit attracted only renegades and turncoats and was filled out by assorted sell-swords. The Cultirith eventually evolved into a tribe of professional warriors, though they have always been despised by the Hillmen, even after the Dunadan Kings established relations with their erstwhile subjects. Although the Cultirith cannot match the skills of the best Hillmen Rangers, they are very capable scouts. (Dark Mage of Rhudaur RPG Module)

OK, he performed astonishingly badly on his first appearance, but I have high hopes for this fellow in the long run (very long, probably).....
Mysterious old man seated before the Paths of the Dead
Tolkien's description provides all the information Chris will need to realise the unexplained ancient and doubtless ragged hillman who watched over the Door leading to the dreaded Paths of the Dead - presumably the final living descendant of the Hillmen whom Isildur had cursed:
"...when the Eorlingas came out of the North and passed at length up the Snowbourn, seeking strong places of refuge in time of need, Brego and his son Baldor climbed the Stair of the Hold and so came before the Door. On the threshold sat an old man, aged beyond guess of years; tall and kingly he had been, but now he was withered as an old stone. Indeed for stone they took him, for he moved not, and he said no word, until they sought to pass him by and enter. And then a voice came out of him, as it were out of the ground, and to their amaze it spoke in the western tongue: The way is shut.
'Then they halted and looked at him and saw that he lived still; but he did not look at them. The way is shut, his voice said again, It was made by those who are Dead, and the Dead keep it, until the time comes. The way is shut.
'And when will that time be? said Baldor. But no answer did he ever get. For the old man died in that hour and fell upon his face; and no other tidings of the ancient dwellers in the mountains have our folk ever learned.'
—J.R.R.Tolkien, The Return of the King chapter 3 "The Muster of Rohan".

We don't have a dwarf yet, so this is my suggestion for this month :
Ori at the last stand in the Chamber of Mazarbul
Ori was one of the dwarves of Thorin's expedition, and he followed Balin in his attempt to reclaim the Realm of Moria. He wrote the last pages in the Book of Mazarbul before he and the last few remaining Dwarves perished during a final stand. Ori did not appear in the Mithril range as a stand-alone figure, I think.

BILBO WITHOUT ANY BUTTONS AFTER ESCAPING GOLLUM AND THE GOBLINS
An iconic moment in The Hobbit, for certain. I think it would be a fun addition to everyone's collection.

There is single handed axe on a rope, hanging off his right wrist. Much as I like this suggestion, the figure would only work if he was on his way up a ladder leant against a length of wall. Is that the plan? I fear that Mithril might feel that a length of wall counts as an extra "figure". I hope I'm wrong.

It needs a piece of a ladder with the minimal length of the size (height) of the figure. I'm sure Chris is able to create a figure like this without a length of wall. After all, he is the man!

Chris has been known to 'add' extras to suggestions so maybe a thin strip of metal depicting a wall might be included. Personally, I like this suggestion (have voted for it previously) and if it did win I wouldn't worry about a wall section myself as I would be adding something of my own. I think it is the Collectors who like to display out of the 'box' who would have the biggest issue with a wall or no wall

Aragorn as Thorongil attacking the Corsair fleet at Umbar As a young man Aragorn served Steward Ecthelion as a captain of Gondor. He routed the forces at Umbar and was to receive a grand reception when he returned to Minas Tirith however he declined and went on to seek his destiny alone. I picture Aragorn standing with a torn corsair banner in one hand and a raised sword in the other. He's wearing light armor and a head scarf since this was a night raid against the fleet.
