We were delayed due to falling short of the seven new ideas that are required by the rules before starting the vote. Now we have enough. Chris submitted the list to me today. As this month is a short month, the time to vote will also have to be shortened so please vote asap as this will expire on Friday. We can then do the final vote over the weekend.

Hello everybody, new member here (some may know me as Gabriele in the Facebook group). I can't believe this has never been suggested, maybe it was and I missed it. EÄRENDILThis character, the half-elven father of Elrond and Elros, is mentioned many times in LotR and in 'Many Meetings' chapter Bilbo sings a song giving a detailed description of him: "In panoply of ancient kings, in chainéd rings he armoured him; his shining shield was scored with runes to ward all wounds and harm from him; his bow was made of dragon-horn, his arrows shorn of ebony, of silver was his habergeon, his scabbard of chalcedony; his sword of steel was valiant, of adamant his helmet tall, an eagle-plume upon his crest,
upon his breast an emerald."
Later it is mentioned that he was crowned with a Silmaril, so he should have a jewel on his brow or perhaps a small crown instead of a helm.

It might fall foul of what Mithril can release under license agreements regarding permissible characters. I'm sure an official answer will be provided before the cut-off date

Lothlorien (Guardian) Elf with lamp (male or female)
... They were clad in shadowy-grey, and could not be seen among the tree-stems, unless they moved suddenly. They stood up, and one of them uncovered a small lamp that gave out a slender silver beam. He held it up, looking at Frodo’s face, and Sam’s. Then he shut off the light again, and spoke words of welcome in his elven tongue. Frodo spoke haltingly in return. ...

Merry stabbing the Witch-king.
I would like to see a complete diorama with "Eowyn with head of the fell-beast" and "Witch-king standing before Eowyn" and "Merry stabbing the Witch-king".

Queen of the Dead I am a great fan of the Army of the Dead and would loved to have seen more figures in this range back in the day, so as an addition to the ranks of the Dead that we already have, my suggestion for this month is a Queen of the Dead. As far as I am aware there is no reference to a 'QOTD, however, on the assumption that the King of the Dead did have a Queen who I assume would also have carried on into the spirit-world after Isildur's curse, then maybe it's time for the Mithril King to finally have his queen (and I don't thing we have any female members of the 'Dead'). Design-wise, best left to CT, but possibly as a stand-alone figure wandering the halls, or one who may also have travelled with the Army of the Dead to Erech and beyond and even dressed as for battle (I guess there could have been other females amongst that host as well). IF at all possible, and incorporated within the single figure design, maybe a 'Dead' Princeling and/or even a Princess-ling clinging to her ragged skirts

A crebain flock flying or soaring from branches
The wizard of Orthanc would be pleased if it could count as a montly single figure... ...and try to imagine what a big flock you can have with multiple purchases! A simple idea could be to create a three parts set (crebain flock + support + base), so everyone could mix and base more than one flock in a larger and more dangerous one... eventually adding it to a diorama, like a black cloud searching for the One Ring...

I would like to resuggest this character:
Bolg, Orc Chief of Gundabad

Faramir, Steward of Gondor
Two different concepts: the first, as he is being appointed Steward by the newly-crowned King Elessar
or (to my mind the most interesting)
Faramir acting as Steward while Elessar and Eomer are away on campaign fighting the last remnants of forces loyal to Sauron.
Either way, Faramir could be portrayed with the Steward's rod of office.
(My apologies if this has been suggested before and is in the process of being realised.)

It might fall foul of what Mithril can release under license agreements regarding permissible characters. I'm sure an official answer will be provided before the cut-off date Chris decides on the ideas when he reviews them. If a member is following the rules they are very likely to not have a problem, if someone is concerned about an idea you might wish to not suggest it on the thread and simply inquire by email so it gets the ok for future months. Chris may decide to accept an idea and run with it outside of the limitations laid down initially which, as our sculptor, he is free to do as the rules around the single figure are primarily for his benefit so he is not overloaded with complicated sculpts. The only rules that override Chris's personal views would be the license rules which ultimately require us to get the idea passed with Middle-earth enterprises.

Since the crebain flock was rejected, I'll try to move to the opposite side... DEAD MAN blowing a HORN calling the deadmen to war although he seems to drag its weary gait, he's advancing while blowing his ancient horn to raise and gather the army of the dead to war I'm personally fond of Chris dead men, with their weary, painful and scarry expressions and their slow, dragged, but fatal step. We have a king, a captain, a standard bearer, troops... don't we need a musician?

Oh, well... pity for my original idea, but I understand the limits of the license. I'll try with something else:
Hobbit Outsider
Relevant quote: So my idea is that of a hobbit that looks a bit like a vagabond, possibly wearing a hood/cape, carrying a bundle with his few possessions, and generally looking down-and-out. He may be either sneaking somewhere, or perhaps striking a carefree pose, dancing or making music, whatever Chris thinks best.

Not 100% sure (age and memory), but I may have suggested this previously and it won the vote and it's in the pipeline - if not, good luck, we can't get enough of the Dead p.s. check 'recent' winning suggestions Just checked - it was the winning suggestion for February 2022 . Pehaps a drummer?
