Thanks for all the ideas for May. Chris has approved of all the ideas so we can go ahead with the vote. You should consider including a comment on why you support any of the ideas in the poll.

FOOL OF A TOOK!
The miniature would have Pippin kneeling or crouching over the well of the guard room of Moria. He would have small stone in hand ready drop it into the deep of the well.
This scene really puts things in motion in Moria. It may be the reason why the goblins seize the company later and Gandalf is forced to battle the balrog. It also gives as a perfect picture of Pippins carefree and curious nature. Even inside the darkest and most foul place he has ever visited, he chooses to commit this almost childlike action.
"Pippin felt curiously attracted by the well... he crept to the edge and peered over. A chill air seemed to strike his face, rising from invisible depths. Moved by a sudden impulse he groped for a loose stone, and let it drop. He felt his heart beat many times before there was any sound. Then far below, as if the stone had fallen into deep water in some cavernous place, there came a plunk... ...What's that?! cried Gandalf...'Fool of a Took' he growled. 'This is a serious journey, not a hobbit walking-party'...

>FOOL OF A TOOK! Good one. Hope to see it some day, preferably this month. Still, we need a bag of suggestions, so lets forward again... A foxwondering what these Hobbits out there sleeping in his turf is all about, but never finding out. Preferably with a base containing some blankets covering three hobbit bodies and their hair stucking out, but as I realize its a "single month" month, just the fox with any base will do.

I would like to see an ordinary
Gundabad Orc Warrior in a fighting pose,
in the old M94 and M98 style.

Wainrider man with whip
The appendices mentioned incursions of the Wainriders in Gondor from 1851 TA, for almost a century.
The appendices A mentionned that the Wainriders were a people, or confederacy, of Men from the East. They journeyed in great wagons, and their chieftains rode chariots in battle.
In the Unfinished Tales, "Cirion and Eorl and the Friendship of Gondor and Rohan", it states that they camped in fortified camps of wagons. Their young women were also trained in arms, and they, along with old men and youths, stayed behind, able to defend their homes from attackers.
The MZ670 Wainrider girl mounted is the very first miniature representing this people (2018 December votes).
To complete, I propose another Gypsy member : a man this time.
He is bearded and has long hair. His head could be covered with a bandana tied behind and he could wear a thick leather bolero, a wide fabric belt and boots. He could be armed with a whip that he wields in front of him and have a short scimitar passed through the belt.

Not sure wether I would take up the "Gypsy" analogy - as they were moving through other cultures, not forming large coalitions bent on conquest. I always found them fascinating because there is no direct anlogy in human history. Nearest are the nomad cultures of central asia, but they did not use "wains" or wagons - though they did move most of their property and could erect half-permanent settlements this way. Nice one, and certainly underrepresented.

RIVENDELL MARCH-WARDEN
An elf tasked with scouting in the mountains around Rivendell and keep them safe from dangers like trolls and orcs, thus protecting the Hidden Valley. It would be the elf equivalent of a Ranger, and I picture him with similar garb: heavy travellers' clothes, heavy cloak with hood, a short bow (possibly recurve) and a sword at the belt. The pose would be either spying - crouched and looking forward; or also crouching and aiming with his bow at whatever threat he sees. Alternatively, he could be greeting travellers to question them on their destination, with hood hanging back and a raised hand.

Don't get me wrong, colleagues, it's totally stupid for me to pay €17 for a 4 mm high and long fox. This would be a great idea combined with the hobbits in one vignette. Like this, one animal, it makes absolutely no sense...

Like this, one animal, it makes absolutely no sense... You seem to forget what Mr Tubb makes out of suggestions, dear Thingol. It would be not the first time, that we collectors get much more and really great scenes or mini-vignette, even out of single suggestion months! Warg leader for example, finally we got three of them. 😉 And its not always the bloody battle action scenes, influenced by movie adaptions, that make the novel awesome, its often the little scenes, that touch the heart.
