10 excellent ideas, some veterans of past votes, others new to the arena, ready to battle for dominance. You have one vote per member so choose carefully. As usual the vote is blind for the first round to give all members ideas a fair chance to gain support. Its important that all members partake in the voting process so take a minute and vote today. The 2nd round vote starts on the 24th.
The vote ends at 16:00 BST.

Haldir, Haldir, he's our man, something something no one can.
Actually, I love the idea of Haldir as proposed - a convertable elf who can be turned into Haldir, Rumil or Orophin.

Voted for my own suggestion this month (haven't done that for a while!), but this is another month when I shall be happy with whatever wins, they're all such good ideas.

Orc Captain of Moria , if not in the dark of Khazad Dum, he can be used in any army, anytime, any place, anywhere.

Grown to the height of Men, straight-limbed and strong, the fighting Uruk-hai did not languish in sunlight. In fact, they did not fear it at all. So these elite soldiers of the Dark Lord went where their lesser brethren could not, and, being larger and stronger, they were likewise fiercer and far more effective in battle. Uruks were typically deployed as high commanders and captains of lesser Orcs.
Picture the following image of Lugdush, Uruk of Isengard:
Lugdush is clad in black armor. His feet are set far apart. His hairless head is thrown back, while his gaping mouth reveals a fang-filled jaw that nearly touches his chest. The Uruk's long, ape-like arms swing a wicked two-handed spiked flail overhead. Note: I would like to stress again the significance of the flail. As far as I know, there are no other Mithril Orcs armed with this weapon. Actually, I like to think of Lugdush as a kind of mad Olympic hammer thrower! I think this will make for a dramatic pose!

Hi Grond, you refer to Lugdush but I don't see him in the poll. Which suggestion are you referencing?
I like the idea of a flail-wielding orc, although I voted for the Bearer of the Red Arrow.

They shortened the title from "LUGDUSH, Uruk of Isengard" to simply "Uruk of Isengard". Anyway, thanks, I'm going to modify my previous post to clarify. BTW, good luck with your Gondorian.

I think seven figures all with the same number of votes must be a pretty unique record! It just goes to prove how good all the suggestions are.

Hmm. No response to the inquiry on Eowyn.
I assume she simply got lost.

Unfortunate. Possibly there was a mix-up between Eowyn and Eomer. The two names are somewhat similar. Hopefully we will see her again.

Unless there are some restrictions, or it is a mounted month, she will come back.

yes,
new Eowyn and Eomer figures would be great, but let's see, what the next Helms Deep series will bring; weren't there some glittering caves? Maybe with Eowyn?
I like the voting this time as 2 of my own suggestions are now not the last ones and ALL suggestions are quite nice this time. But there are still deadlines as Master Theobald said, so let's wait and see.......

See, that's what I meant ... about 24 hours after the deadline ended two more votes have been placed, so that there now is a draw between the Black Hourn and Tom Bombadil.

On this particular occasion that hasn't ended up mattering quite so much as it might have. What I'll be more interested to see is how may figures feature in Round 2, since the next three after Tom and the Huorn all have exactly the same number of votes.

In the book, Eowyn remained at Dunharrow with the women and children when Theoden led his warriors to war against Saruman.

Hi! Today is the 24th of September. And I just voted some minutes ago . . . One day too late as it seems. And: for Beechbone.

Well, you aren't the only one to vote too late. Someone has also voted for Haldir since the voting officially ended, and consequently pushed him up a place higher than he was when the polls 'closed'.

In the book, Eowyn remained at Dunharrow with the women and children when Theoden led his warriors to war against Saruman. Oh yesssssss, this d**n movie !! I think I have to read the books again. As I never paid much attention to the story of Eowyn I did not remember this. Concerning voting: You are all right and just one mere vote for Haldir more and this guy will make it into the next round!! Wendy, wouldn't that be great?? I mixed up your Haldir and my Orophin/Rumil suggestions and maybe this will be succesfull.

concerning the votes deadlines... I am a bit surprised the problem remains...
Doesn't ProBoard provides Mithril tools to fix deadlines for poll that AUTOMATICALLY closes poll at a given date and hour without having to close the topic manually? that's very odd...
I know other forums (phpBB at least, the most common of all forums) that allow such functionnality for years... When it comes to polls that's even one of the main functionnalities that are developped on PHP forums... Since Proboards seems to be PROfessionnal I find it odd they have not implemented it...
Could you give us some insight on the matter, master O'Brien?

I will try to get the deadlines more accurate, Proboards do have a feature for the deadlines, but they are not that accurate (days and hours) and as I am often in the middle of something else at 16:00 I sometimes forget about the vote ending. It is my fault, I have not denied this. However I will see what I can do about it. A bit of experimentating and I may get it to work.
