I made some research today and I noticed...
there is strictly no Mithril entry nor any Prince August (as a company) articles in the well known online Wikipedia encyclopedia...
while many other companies have their products and their name in Wikipedia, it would be great to have Mithril there. Wikipedia being a non-commercial community it is free to desposit articles there. Such articles for Mithril and for Prince August should be made for different languages. Maybe we could submit an article to Michael and if agreed upon, we could post it there, with pics if need be...
Having an entry in wikipedia is really a boostup in terms of advertisement!!

Very good idea, Gildor. I have to confess that I never checked Wikipedia concerning Mithril. So, that's a next step to take.

I would certainly endorse posting on Wikipedia. If you have any suggestions please email them to me. What would be the best way to describe Mithril to people who have never seen our figures before.

I'll try to prepare something Michael also there may be a need to post articles in the localised wikipedias (they are usually not linked together and the content usually change )

Gildor and Michael, another idea would be to add a link to the interview of Chris Tubb which Gildor published on the MMP website a few years ago to any Wikipedia entry. Of course Chris would need to agree. That interview gave a very good history of Mithril and description of the figures.

the interview of Chris Tubb has a structure of ... interview, that would require a conversion into article in a different style. Not to mention there are many aspects in this interview that are linked to Chris Tubb himself, not necessarily Mithril...
Besides there are other interviews by Chris Tubb, there are several sources... The question is:
should an article about Prince August be made prior to the Mithril one, thus there would be no need to mention all the PA history but directly focus on the mithril brand...
I can trace back PA history back to Jan Edman, when they were making little toy trains, before moving to Ireland but is it necessary?

Well, about an article about PA history, I've confronted thinks about this. First, I think that this will give a some extra job (and maybe not very necessary for expand Mithril on the world), but on the other side, maybe some fans of PA classic miniatures can finish discovering Mithril if they search Prince August in Wikipedia. MAYBE. So it depends... If Jan Edman can give you the history well organized, it will be ok.. But if not, well... Better we must focus only in Mithril first. We could add later PA articles if we see that Mithril Wikipedia have some success. Regards, Imisel.

well I don't know if Jan Edman could actually (it's the father of Lars Edman) but surely Lars could but I think it may go "slightly" off topic. the problem is that Mithril is a brand of PA and if we quote PA in wikipedia, either we make a data entry for PA or include the info in Mithril entry (which is not very structured)

He is hard to get to confirm on interviews, as he does not like giving them.

oh the interview is public Michael, it is an interview between Chris and myself for the main pages of my own site, (indee I had authorization to post it) : mithril.faerylands.eu/index.php?action=ctubbthe introduction to the interview is by myself, and describes quite extensively what mithril is... if you think this can be of any use...

Gildor and Michael, my idea was to focus on Mithril and Chris. Any reference to PA or Chris's other works would be incidental. But imisel is correct, any cross reference between subjects could be welcome, and maybe even an opportunity for PA to set up a wiki page of its own (if one doesn't already exist).

Just remember that a Wikipedia entry is in no way to be used for advertising any products, or the entry will be deleted faster then you can say "Quidditch". Take a look on entry for other companies (preferably in the miniatures business) to see what you can get away with.
Imho its worth it, but its a lexikon.
