then definitly this is a great thing to add !

well I did not know that about MERP and Mithril ents... for me those two GF figurines were Treebeard (and actually back at that time I was a bit sad to see it was "yet another Treebeard" because they almost all look the same... Ents are not all supposed to have beards and the other ones in the range do not have one. but seen in this way that would be indeed great as an Ent army could be very original but we definitly would need more generic ents else we'll have a clone war, and this is not star wars

Treebeard at Isengard, Rise of the EntsI'd like to suggest wise old Treebeard as single figure, without the Hobbits Merry and Pippin. in the scene when he and the other Ents set things right at Isengard. "Buraroom, Huuuuuooom!" Hasn't this figurine been made already ? you have MS467 (trumpeting ent, which used the concept art of Treebeard so I assume it IS Treebard) and also MS571 (ent fighting half-orc commander) which also represents Treebeard well, since we have Leaflock, and Quickbeam in the range, with other aspects but that the original Treebeard 'bearded ent' concept was reused in those two afore mentionned references I considered it was him... how would your suggestion differ from those two ones ?

don't forget dear mindxt2 that the survey is not over and once it is, it does not mean they will drop all their stock just they won't continue producing it... they still have stock left (some at least)

All in all, I thought it was time for the Village of Bree to go away... I know there are not many "townfolk" ranges in the mithril range, and with Bree gone, and the old Prancing Poney gone that makes them precious but well... if place is needed

I voted actually I think that MV and MB should always remain in production because they can always be a good way to promote the brand in a single "big product" and well... promoting a brand with unavailable product is a bit awkward I think Even if M62 is old, it's one of the items that lead mithril to be famous...along with MB279 or others. Now I don't see the point of having to vote for EACH reference rather than "series"....I can understand that for Gold Fellowship figures, but for the "Village of Bree" or "Lossarnach army", it would feel odd to have one or two references out of production and not the others... Thus when I voted no, I tried to choose all the references from a given serie

I really like your pic master Thingol If she is to be that way, with unattached hair, and without weapons, I would vote for her immediatly ! but I still can't imagine Arwen with sword and attached hair :/ I simply wonder what's the most annoying for me, the weapon or the attached hair are simply unaceptable

well I think I could give you the number of MERP / extended / uncanonical figurines in the mithril range that would be interesting but I think it is less than 80% (i may be wrong but that is indeed a very interesting data I could add to my database ! )
Once again, I have nothing against the figure itself or what it'll look like I just express my opinion about how I envision Arwen (or not) Besides, there is canon and canon... for instance, I LOVE the LR11-LR20 Named Nazgul figures which are as far from the canon that one figurine can be... but Tolkien never said anything about them so it is open to interpretation and I really like or appreciate this "other minds" concept...
I simply do not share the same feeling for characters which have been described by Tolkien, this is different because it means making something different from the "canon" existing texts, knowingly.

well, I know I will buy her anyway as i collect all mithril no matter what, but that may also be the reason why I express such feelings and concern instead of "letting things happen" but indeed as Halbarad said, if "she happens", i'm certain it will be great (I hope it won't be the reproduction of an existing figurine) but I won't consider her an Arwen and to do so I may even choose to paint her blonde "to forget who she's supposed to be"

Well Halbarad said it all The figure in itself may be great, but I can't consider her to be Arwen and thus using her for other purposes. There are other women in Tolkien's world who are wielding weapons but rarely noble ones. M400 is a big exception with a Galadriel in full armor gear mounted. To my opinion (for defense of "Arwen idea") : - "Arwen wandering under stars light" doesn't mean "Arwen in ranger dress" - and even if Arwen was dressed like a ranger, I don't see where is the mistake with Tolkien's works (i don't imagine Arwen as an Noble Housewife, without martial skills) Well I simply cannot imagine Arwen wielding a single weapon. I certainly do not deny her the use of magic but I cannot imagine her with any kind of blade, or with attached hair, or in pants instead of robe. She is supposed to be "the fairest" of all, and embodiement of elven feminine beauty for the 3rd Age, and the "canon" of elven beauty in Tolkien works is quite documented. It is as if you would imagine Boromir as a spellcaster in robe, can you? to quote you : "i don't imagine Arwen as an Noble Housewife, without martial skills", well you don't, but that's how Tolkien described her, still you can imagine her the way you want, PJ did so and it thrilled a lot of Liv Tyler fans too... and exasperated others for such blasphemy (for the fact she's playing Glorfindel's role, not her own)

well, it seems spiders are not loved a lot around but that's fine, I voted for it but I may yet decide to sacrifice it for another suggestion with more chances to win...
Though I may have liked the idea of a wandering Arwen under the stars (the way she did when she finally decided to "leave the land of mortals" and lay down on the ground of the forest after the death of Aragorn, I personnaly have difficulties to envision her wandering in adventure garb, with weapons, like she does in the movie. Tolkien stated Arwen was the typical non-warrior housewife / maiden... The only "physical" action she is doing to help the war effort, or her future husband is... sewing a banner. that's a cliché indeed and very mysoginist but that's on purpose. Tolkien did not think all women had to be this way, Luthien is not, Elwing is not, Eowyn is not. Even Haleth (daughter of Haldad) was one of the first leaders of men (the House of Haleth is one of the three great houses of Men)... but Arwen is different.
it's ok if others like PJ or fans like it this way, and well it seems the community likes it this way too as it becomes an idol of "feminism", while Arwen is meant to be the perfect image of "anti-feminism" in strict and dramatical opposition to Eowyn (and that's one of the big aspects of the "love triangle" between Aragorn, Eowyn and Arwen)
I won't begin a "campaign" like some said I did for the wainriders, but I just wanted to bring this forth for those who don't know about this aspect of canonical Arwen character and why Tolkien wanted her this way.

Nice suggestion Thingol !
I'd like to submit something original, though some will say it already exists in the range :
spider of Mirkwood or "Attercop"
... to give it a more original name , given by Bilbo
(I know there is already M103, but this is a very ancient one, and well that makes only ONE spider in the whole range, while there are supposed to be many spiders in the mirkwood forest right ? ) Having an additional spider would be cool... Indeed that goes against my own reckoning of the Gold Fellowship which is against submitting common anonymous things... But Spiders are rare and exotic enough to be an exception.
NB : the spider would have to be the same size/scale as M103. Not a Shelob of course.

It's not a strike against you master Theobald, I would do exactly the same, and have done before when I considered suggestions to be opposite to the canon, I myself also defended the idea of a wainrider captain in this "campaign" as you said it, but in order to clarify what/how they were described by the professor.
If people want a wainrider horseman, so be it, but they should also know it is no wainrider captain in battle, as per Tolkien description 'in battle, wainrider captains rode chariots'.

as I said elsewhere : wainriders (as the name indicates) are chariot riders, not horsemen, they don't ride on back of horse they "drive" horses from a chariot behind horse, like the Scythians or Hamaxobioi in Greece this means it is not a horsmen that would depict a wainrider but a chariot driver (like in Ben Hur) Some Variags also used chariots, inspired by their eastern neighbours 'wainriders', here is an illustration : a wainrider that would be a simple horseman would be called........... An Easterling Wainriders belong to the "easterling ethnic group", their particularity is in their culture , they "ride chariot", that's why they are called this way, not because of their geographical origin... "The Wainriders were a people, or confederacy, of Men from the East. They journeyed in great wagons, and their chieftains rode chariots in battle. They camped in fortified camps of wagons" (LOTR Appendix A) Sculpting something like this would be GREAT, but it would require a vignette or a boxed set... it is not in the scale of a simple horseman. I deeply encourage our dear master Ent, if this suggestion win, to convince and be 'firm' in email exchanges with Chris that it HAS to be a chariot rider and not a horseman, no matter the increase in cost (I am willing to pay €60 for such a figure but I'd really be annoyed to have 'yet another simple anonymous oriental horseman' )

well there's something strange, earlier there were 32 voters, and Aragorn was at 16, dunlending at 1, wainrider at 15, now only 31 voters and there's a draw.... I assume an Aragorn supporter has backed off his vote...
I suppose it's meant for suspense until the last day... I don't know how I should take it...

"trying to have a draw".... that's a first
well I'll cross my fingers then... one more vote to be cast if we compare to 1st round participation
If only wainriders had a "name among them", a leader, someone of notable interest, but it seems that professor Tolkien never took time to emphasize on any leader among them or names, not even in the "History of Middle Earth" volumes. One can only assume they indeed had leaders, but Tolkien did not think it worthy to mention any of them... too bad

Though I am curious about how a wainrider would be depicted by Chris, I am skeptical about the fact it would actually by a "chariot" led by a captain, below a horse (as seen in some pictures from MERP games).. this would be bigger than a simple mounted figurine... I wish there was some guarantee about how it is represented in the end. In the meantime, though, three times before Aragorn has tried to win, now is the time ! Who will lead the final battle against Sauron of Mordor. Would you like the dark forces of Mordor to win? who will lead the army? we need this leader... we already have his army in the range, we already have his ennemies (warbands and various series), we already have the captains of the ennemies (Mouth of Sauron, Gothmog, the Witch-King) but we still don't have THE leader of the army of the free people! Vote for Aragorn ! Vote for the Light

I see that the dunlending horseman leader is next to Aragorn in votes. Indeed it is a good idea too because in the regular ranges there are none I think. STILL, if you are a collector, such a figurine already exists, as the leader officer of the MW346 "Half-Orcs of Isengard" Warband. The mounted captain is a dunlending, on horse, a very good figurine indeed... But it is among the rarest ones to find... here is a pic : (MW346 subref CA1) My point is, even if this one is rare, it exists... Aragorn as a king, leading his armies in a hopless last stand at the black gate... is a unique, never seen before (actually Aragorn as king, mounted, whatever situation .. does not exist either) Vote for Aragorn ! (well, Elessar ! )

well I like your suggestion too Halbarad but it would be more fitting as a vignette, and since it is a mounted month and not vignette I'm afraid it would result in a "twin figurines" pack...
And when I look at last twin figurines (Eldacar vs Castamir, or the Invention of Golf) I can't help but feel nostalgic about "real vignettes" like Beregond and Pippin at the black gate, or better, the surrending of the Arkenstone) .. That's why I'm skeptical about this Boar Hunt for a mounted month ;(

I'd like to resubmit... for the Fourth time now : King Elessar at the Black GateDuring the last assault at the end of the War of the Ring, when the negociations were done with the Mouth of Sauron, Aragorn led the last stand upon the Black Gate. From this battle we already have a great vignette with Beregond and Pippin and the troll. but the very leader of the army of Free Folks, all clad in his regal armor, on horse, gathering troops and rousing them for one last hopeless stand ... would be epic (Some will say, yet another Aragorn... but we do not have a single Aragorn as a king , mounted, in combat, leading troops as a commander, not as a ranger... So that is quite unique...Actually there is only one Aragorn mounted in the whole range, it's the "House of Elrond" scene of the leave-taking, with Arwen...) It could be inspired by M260 Theoden, on a rearing horse (rearing horse in mithril range is quite unique with M260) or a backing horse (like the unreleased MW347 mounted Dunlending captain) Read more: mithrilfigures.proboards.com/thread/1392/july-2014-single-vote-closed#ixzz4AbQfIdK5I know Halbarad is suggesting also another Aragorn mounted but as ranger.... well this one is different and definitly less seen in the whole mithril range... I hope this times it will have some support... as I said, it's the fourth time

About Arwen mounted on Asfaloth running to Rivendell, it's not a matter of movie or not it's simply anticanon. The reality of the books is Glorfindel letting Asfaloth bring Frodo (alone on its back) to Rivendell... There is no Arwen in this, at all and should not be
