I suggest again, Angbor the fearless, Lord of Lamedon.
"Only Angbor, Lord of Lamedon, had the heart to abide us (the King of the Dead and Grey Company)..." - ROTK
This dude was called fearless by Aragorn himself.
[glow=red,2,300]...Angbor the fearless...[/glow]

I have said recording. It's a single tape that (not surprisingly) I bought on eBay. It seems there is a set of 4 CD's with the man himself and Christopher reading more passages, but I haven't gotten around to buying it yet. I put it on the Christmas list last year, but someone bought me the wrong thing.
My favorite reading is the Elbereth song, but it was so neat to hear Sam's song actually with a tune!

Troll sat alone on his seat of stone, And munched and mumbled a bare old bone; For many a year he had gnawed it near, For meat was hard to come by. Done by! Gum by! In a cave in the hills he dwelt alone, And meat was hard to come by. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I can't help but hear Tolkien himself singing this...

I was going to suggest Bombur on behalf of Mithrandir...I guess great minds think alike, Axel. (Though some might say Bombur doesn't qualify as a single mini.) Well then, I'll have to think of another one off the cuff... Oh, this probably doesn't qualify (too big?), but I suggest the troll from Sam's song.

A little tweaking was necessary, but... ;D
Tamer of Felarof, mearas sire, From out of the North, blazing like fire, To the Celebrant Field, he led the Eotheod like a flood, Enemy slaughter and panic, they spilled much orc blood. The reward for their succour, as it had come unplanned, An alliance with Gondor and a fine green land. Through many long years, songs will be sung, For in August chosen, 'twas Eorl the Young.

Well, I wouldn't worry about block voting because it hasn't worked thus far. If enough people prefer another suggestion, that's the one that will win - especially with the second round of voting added it would take a huge block of voters to change the outcome. I'm voting for Eorl like I've voted for him even when he only got one or two votes. What can I say? I'm a sucker for mounted figures and I would like to see how Chris sculpts Felarof. And to be frank, I've rarely voted for the winner whether Eorl or the Lossoth hunter or Prince Imrahil with wounded Faramir or...well you get the idea. I hope I'm not bad luck! As for suggestions, I'm pretty much holding off more because Halbarad has already been made so I thought someone else should win that first figure. I'll throw out a suggestion now and again, but there have been so many suggestions from others that I've liked better than my own: Hirgon, Far-Harad Chieftain, Beregond, trumpeting ent just to name a few... Really, we aren't voting for Eorl just to shut Barly up! ;D

And Wendy, the Lossoth Chieftain and King Arvedui can be made as two stand alone figures (better for diorama builders and role-players/war gamers) without an expensive base. I think two separate men would cost less than a man on a horse, as the horse is bigger. So Vote Lossoth, Dunedain, and Palantir!!! OK, Fair enough. Let's see, mounted figures are 24.95 and as we do not know how much two stand alone figure would cost yet, should Mr. Tubb design it so (or it is requested of him) it shall be amended as such: Eorl might be the least expensive option. ;D Ah well, may the figure(s) with the most votes win! ;D Wendy

For the cost concious, Eorl is the least expensive option this month. Go Felarof! Don't be glue...
I don't want to belittle the other suggestions, by the way. All would make lovely vignettes. :)Buhman, please suggest Lossoth Chieftain next month. He would work well as a single figure.

Weird. I don't have the option of voting anymore. I don't recall voting, but one thing may have driven out another, I suppose. Oh well.

I believe a look of utter despair would be fitting for Denethor. His actions were rooted in a complete lack, no, forsaking, of hope. Nice ideas there Dave and Dave.

Let's see, this month, let's give Theodred a chance. (Hey Barley - I voted for Eorl several times!) Theodred should probably be armed with an axe and I seem to recall it being mentioned somewhere (though not in LOTR). I make no stipulations regarding pose; Mr. Tubb can sculpt him however he would like.

I think I will withhold my suggestion for this month and give my support to Eorl. See Barly, you will get AT LEAST three votes. I've voted for him before, I'll vote for him again. (If he wins, will he have curly eyebrows?

I would like to see Chris' version of the father of all mearas. I imagine a dynamic pose with mane and tail flying in the wind carrying Eorl the Young charging into battle.

I too prefer stand along figures, mostly due to cost. It seems though that fellowship voters seem to go for the vignettes. I would be perfectly happy with a mounted Halbarad all by himself.

We need some Rangers. How about Halbarad (yeah, I'm sticking with him) meeting Aragorn in ROTK? Halbarad would be leading his horse, and tethered to his horse would be Roheryn (Aragorn's horse). Halbarad would have a look of relief on his face at finding Aragorn, and Aragorn would have a look of joyous surprise on his face.
'Halbarad!' he said. 'Of all joys this is the least expected!' - ROTK, Ch. 2, Passing of the Grey Company

I'm sticking with suggesting Halbarad again. "Halbarad mounted all by himself" ...though I don't know that I can compete with Bombur's glitzy campaign.

My suggestion is a simple one: Eomer on foot in any pose that Chris Tubb feel inspired to sculpt him. I do have other ideas, but they'll wait till they actually have a chance to win.

Still, I'll hold off voting for a while.

I will bring back my suggestion of an aged King Dain defending the body of King Brand in the War of the Ring. It would be a small two person vignette, Shagrat and Gorbag size (or possibly two separate figures). As I mentioned in MMP, I like to think that making a figure is like making a song in Middle Earth. That moment of courage is definitely worth a song.
Cheers!

It seems I opened quite a can of worms... Yes, we don't want to "rock the boat" in regards to licenses. I had tried to look up the TE website to get a better idea of what was and was not allowed, but the link did not work. Sad. Though, I too do not want to see anyone "reinvent" Tolkien's work, I do not see that (especially given Mr. Tubbs previous works) making little metal figures would reinvent anything. Still, I must respect that the T Estate is not money driven in their decision. I will withdraw "Feanor" as a suggestion and submit "Elf Lord with Jewel", because after all, should TE (either one of them) ask, it could be Glorfindel leaving the token at the last bridge. I'm assuming therefore that the Turin series was an aberation....

I've been researching this with just the LOTR books. If Queen B. can have a figure made, I see no reason why Feanor cannot be made (besides TE just being picky). Here are the relevent passages:
"And the Star of the House of Feanor..." - Fellowship, Ch. IV
"The palantiri came from beyond Westernesse, from Eldamar. The Noldor made them. Feanor himself, maybe, wrought them...(next page)..."and perceive the unimaginable hand and mind of Feanor at their work, while both the White Tree and the Golden were in flower!'. He sighed and fell silent." - Two Towers Ch. XI
"Feanor was the greatest of the Eldar in arts and lore, but also the proudest and most selfwilled. He wrought the Three jewels, the Silmarilli, and filled them with the radiance of the Two Trees, Telperion and Laurelin, that gave light to the land of the Valar..." LOTR Appendix A
Short of naming him, I might suggest "elf lord with jewel". Or perhaps as Feanor creator of the palantiri. The phrase "it's easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission" comes to mind. Tis worth a try...
