Hey ddaines. Nice drawing! So many great ideas, so hard to choose... I do hope to see Prince Imrahil with wounded Faramir made at some point.

Vote Bombur! Dwarfs are rather short, so there won't be THAT much metal.

If I had had a second vote, I think I'd have to vote for Bilbo Barrelrider. A good suggestion and not a lot of metal required.

So many great suggestions! I had to go with Eorl and Felarof. Mounted figures are my favorite, and it will never be made as a regular release. (Never may too strong a word, but...)

Being partial to flautists, I had to vote for the dwarf, much to the chagrin of Eomer. Poor, poor Eomer.

Queen B. was mentioned in passing by Aragorn in Fellowship.
"He (Gandalf) is surer of finding the way home in a blind night than the cats of Queen Beruthiel."
I do like the idea of Beorn crushing Bolg. Though I do visualize his squishing him with paw on the ground rather than a "bear hug" like the picture posted in the gallery. It would be more bear-like to smash on the ground.

I did like the suggestions last month, so I would suggest that those who suggested last month suggest them again. ;D Perhaps all ten cats might actually be a mini vignette rather than a singe figure. Intriguing nonetheless.
I have some suggestions in mind, but I think I'll hold off for a while...maybe a month or two...or more...

This month I suggest Angbor the Fearless, Lord of Lamedon. (Aragorn is speaking): "But defenders and foes alike gave up the battle and fled when we came, crying out that the King of the Dead was upon them. Only Angbor, Lord of Lamedon, had the heart to abide us..." "...and Angbor of Lamedon came up with all the horsemen that he could muster." "Four thousands I sent march from Pelargir through Lossarnach two days ago; and Angbor the fearless rides before them."
Tengwar says the folk of Lamedon were hunters, skilled with bow, javelin, and sling. I would imagine Angbor to be mounted (since he was leading horsemen) armed with bow and spear, a look of fierce determination on his face. I'd like to see all the lords of Gondor made, but I wouldn't dare suggest a box for Fellowship, so one at a time will do. Though Mithril is releasing some w**b***s, Lamedon will probably not have one made as it was a poor province lacking in coherence of uniform.

Could it be that Gothmog was a man (Numenorian or not) who fell victim to the Morgul blade of the Witchking and therefore is under the Witchking's control? No one really knows, which makes the debate intriguing.
I have no idea which suggestion to give my vote. At least for the first round, I'll go with my sentimental favorite...

Regarding a Halbarad figure, I'm fine with having him fighting a corsair or with Aragorn, or by himself. I would really like to have him holding the standard, though. He could be fighting the corsair with the standard in his right and and his sword in his left. (I think he's a lefty:) (Would they have unfurled the standard while fighting the corsairs to encourage the locals so they wouldn't just flee completely?) If he were to be fighting a corsair, what would a corsair look like? Even if he isn't made fighting a corsair, I'm sure some of us would like a corsair figure made, so it would be good to figure how they should be designed.
I'm sending some pictures of sketches I made of armor and weaponry I think Halbarad might have worn.
I have added your pictures to the Gallery page on Mithril's Fellowship website. Thanks..

The quotes in ROTK about Halbarad are quite numerous, so I'm keep them to a minimum (just to show he actually did carry the standard). I'm sure everyone has read ROTK many times, so I won't include descriptions (though they are also in Ch. 2 and Ch. 6) as it would be too long of a post. Chapter 2 Passing of the Grey Company: ..."and with him was Aragorn, and Halbarad bearing the great staff"... (this is after Aragorn looked into the palantir and the company was preparing to depart) The text says that Aragorn had a different guise when looking into the palantir. I believe he had the standard in the background. Chapter 6 The Battle of Pelennor Fields: ..."There came Legolas, and Gimli wielding his axe, and Halbarad with the standard"... (getting off the ships to join the battle at Pelennor after the standard had been officially unfurled) Halbarad knew going in that he was going to die but went anyway. He deserves to have a figure made.

A mini of Theodred would be nice, but not a "fall of Theodred" type figure. The figure should show him as a great warrior - perhaps a vignette of him against a couple or five Isengard orcs. Or just him looking menacing.
I'd really like to see a figure made of a very old King Dain standing over the body of King Brand (of Dale) protecting the body from all enemies. It takes place in the War of the Ring, just a different location.
I'd also like to see some lords of Gondor made - Forlong the Fat, Prince Imrahil, etc. (They are all listed in my post in the wishlist section of the regular forum.)

How about Halbarad holding the standard that Arwen made for Aragorn? It would complement the Aragorn and Palantir figure, and I don't believe a figure of Halbarad has been made yet. I will post a more specific description and possibly send sketches in the next few days.

Thorongil in the service of Ecthelion
In the time before LOTR, Aragorn, in disguise, served both Thengel and Ecthelion. I could envision Thorongil having little influences from everywhere he had traveled in clothes and armor (perhaps protective gear would be a better way to put it - I don't think he wore metal armor per se), which included the East.
I know this is the nth time I've suggested him. I tried to come up with some new suggestions, but they were too similar to some of the other suggestions so they will have to wait for another month or a mounted figure month.

My suggestion is a different one. So many of the Bombur suggestions would involve a rather pricey vignette, so here a different thought. He's not as fat as he would have been in the other suggestions, but I suggest: [glow=maroon,2,300]Bombur and Bilbo's escape[/glow]In the dwarfs' mad escape from the Goblins in the Misty Mountains, Bilbo could not keep up so the dwarfs carried them on their backs in turn. The relevant quote is of Bombur carrying Bilbo is: "Why, O why did I ever bring a wretched little hobbit on a treasure hunt!" said poor Bombur, who was fat, and staggered along with the sweat dripping down his nose in his heat and terror. I can imagine the look on Bombur's face.

So many great suggestions this month from which to choose. However, I will make a suggestion, even if it is just for suggestion's sake.
Eldarion, son of Aragorn and Arwen
"For if I will not go now, then I must soon go perforce. And Eldarion our son is a man full-ripe for kingship."...There he said farewell to Eldarion, and gave into his hands the winged crown of Gondor and the sceptre of Arnor; and then all left him save Arwen... (LOTR Appendix A)

I appreciate the effort you put into the fellowship, Michael. I know you were just throwing an idea out there and trying something different. But please, no all hobbit months, I beg you. The restrictions on size (and therefore cost) was a positive move, allowing more people the ability to afford the fellowship. Barley does have a point. It perhaps would be better not to have specific theme months just because it limits the suggestions some and limits the choices of voters. I would prefer no theme months or perhaps one theme month per year. Thank you for stating your thoughts, Barley. Everyone's input helps improve the fellowship. Regarding Mr. Tubb's schedule - I don't know how he does it! I'll have to take a peek at the Romans when they are released.

Hi Landpruner. Thank you for posting your thoughts. I understood what your friends meant by "vulgar". It's one of those false cognates. Please encourage those who do not feel comfortable to post anyway. Either they can use a translator website (hardly perfect, but people will get the basic idea) or I'm sure someone here can translate for them. Perhaps a separate thread can be made for people to post en francais, especially for suggestions and such? I hate to see anyone left out of suggesting or voting. I can even try to translate francais. Though it's been a while since school.

Here, here regarding Arwen at Helms Deep in the movie. There is no way Elrond would have let Arwen roam about by herself, considering what happened to Celebrian, but they didn't seem to care about that.
I could see women fighting to defend, but in an offensive battle, I just don't think it was likely. Women were too important for childraising and birthing to lose many in battle. As scouts, it would be more feasible, I believe.

They would most likely be willing to sell any leftover figures rather than selling them before the event. They have 4000 bags of goodies to give out and preselling some of the mithrils will affect the that. All that said, it's worth a try, though I think the price will be lower on ebay. Remember, this special release has almost as many pieces made as a regular M series fig. Hey Barly, is there an admission price to the event? I can't tell from the website. Heehe, Mr. Tubb himself could go. By the way, good for Mithril for getting this chance to gets its name out there. And what's good for Mithril is good for us.

I'll ask around about these minis closer to the event. I don't live anywhere near the place it is being held, but it never hurts to ask around at some other figure painting websites that I frequent. Gildor and aleatherland, I'll make sure you both have them before I add them to my collection.

I'm not too worried about the aftermarket price going too high, and we'll be sure to let everyone know in the MMP forum when some come up on ebay. Right Barly! Challenged accepted.

I think it's kind of funny that "Brand" is translated "fire" on the translator websites. ;D Actually, I did suggest Dain protecting the body of Brand a few times early in the first Fellowship year, though I would hardly consider suggestions of those characters as only "mine". Anyone is free to suggest any variation of them, of course. I agree with you Bombadil regarding the women of Middle Earth. (At least I think so...) Sorry this isn't in German...I don't want to be misunderstood too badly. Well, a little awkward, but.... Mai gewinnen der Vorschlag mit den meisten Stimmen. ;D
