I would like to see Eowyn and Faramir together at the wall of the House of Healing looking East. This would most likely be a vignette, most likely too big for a single figure, like Aragorn and Arwen (can't remember the M number, but the one from the Personalities Series).
A vignette or box set of the Eagles and Gandalf rescuing Frodo and Sam from Mount Doom would be great.

How about a box set with the Dwarves, Gandalf and Bilbo from the Hobbit? A large box set, but the figures would all be small, except Gandalf. The only way to have all the dwarves would be to get the set. It would go along well with the Trolls, William, et al. Just a thought...

Was a figure of Beregond ever made? I have M196 - Pippin and Bergil, which would make me assume a figure of Beregond has been made. I looked through the catalog (suppied on this message board) but couldn't find Beregond on the list. Maybe I just didn't see it?
I'd still like to see a box set of the watcher in the water at Moria....and more Riders of Rohan.

I would love to see figures made of Bullroarer Took (club in hand) and Golfimbul, if they haven't been made already. Since they are mentioned in the Hobbit, it should allowed by the license.

I would like to see some figures made of the eagles from Return of the King carrying Sam and Frodo away from Mt. Doom. I don't think this has been done yet?
Has any figures been made of the corsairs that Aragorn had to defeat to the South before joining the battle at Minus Tirith in RoTK? Or a firgure with the standard that Arwen made for him?
I would really like to see a coronation figure (vignette would work best, probably) with Aragorn, Gandalf and Frodo.
Just out of curiousity, how long does it take for a figure to be designed and put in production?

I have the Ringwraith and Hobbit vingette. The hobbit on the end has a broken foot. Can I get the hobbit replaced? Would I send the broken hobbit back to Mithril? (Sorry this isn't really on topic.)
To justify my post in the wish list section...Has a miniature of Rosie Cotton been made yet? Or a Vingette with King Aragorn, Queen Arwen and Elanor? (Does the rights include the Appendix??)

As I happen to be reading The Hobbit (again), how about William, Tom, and Bert - the trolls near the beginning of the story that Gandalf tricks. Perhaps Bert holding Bilbo by his toes? Do we submit our wishes for the third starter pack here in the wish list section or in the comments? It's nice of you to ask for input. By the way, I like the new newsletter! Thanks for the work you're putting in Michael O'Brien.

Have there been figures made of Pippin and Merry in their respective armors for Rohan and Gondor? I am fairly new to the Mithril line, so I am not familiar with some of the older and more limited releases. Perhaps a scene from the Shire at the end of ROTK where the hobbits take back the Shire from Sharku (Saruman)? How about the watcher at Moria? Or the fellowship waiting to enter Moria with the lovely Holly trees? Old Man Willow with hobbits sticking out of them?

Sorry I haven't written you back Holger. I have an address for Marc, but I believe he moved and I don't have the newest address. I'll root around some more to see what I can find though.
As for Travelling Elrond, the show will go on, so to speak. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the most recent list (as I kept adding people to the MMP list), so it will have to be put together again. As of right now, Elrond is in Spain with Ori, then he goes as follows (going by my poor memory):
Three stops in Spain- Ori sends to Fadrion Fadrion sends to Maenas (?)
Off to Germany (can't remember the order or how many stops)- Theobald Axel Zoetrop HSF62's sister (anyone else?)
from Germany to Australia HSF62 Axe99 (but haven't heard from him in a loooong time)
If you've been omitted from the list and wish to be added or are on the list and do not wish to be, just let me know.
I have been looking at some free forums. It won't have the bells and whistles that MMP did, but it will allow discussion and posting of pictures in the forum.

Thanks Michael. I don't know where he bought Smaug. I will pass the info on to him. I know the customer service at Mithril is top notch. On a positive note, he did like the quality of the piece, it's just the balance issues that has him frustrated.

Anyone have any suggestions on assembling Vengence of Smaug so he won't fall over? An aquaintance of mine bought it for his son, but he's ready to pitch it in the North Sea because it keeps falling over. He's no newbie to building figures, either. I'm the one that suggested it to him, so I'd like to be able to give him some suggestions. Thanks for any help.

It seems that Mithril received a cease and desist as regards the release of both the Easterlings and the Corsairs from (presumably) Tolkien Enterprises and presumably because of a complaint, from the company that shall remain nameless (CTSRN), that Mithril was selling wargaming minis outside the scope of its license.
I think it is a silly complaint as Mithril really does not have any control over exactly what a person does or does not do with figures bought from Mithril and it should not matter how they are packaged. Now, if Mithril switched to plastic and offered huge amounts of figures, that might be a legitimate complaint. Still, one can't wargame without rules. If Mithril has no official rules, I don't consider them wargaming figs.
Frankly, rather than the CTSRN protecting it's marketshare, I daresay they are hurting their marketshare as there are some of us not happy with that company over their tantrum and as a result will not be buying any figures from them.

I don't recognize it, but you're right, it does look like a Chris Tubb sculpt, though the base look very different. Could it be a Prince August elf mini?

It will be one figure in the box. A powerful one. I think this qualifies as teasing. ;D So when will you be able to tell us? Or shall we try and guess?

It sounds like the figure is in both the special edition and the collectors edition. That's a lot of figures made.

I guess I'll chime in a bit. First, I do like the Death of Theoden vignette, but the only problem is that in ROTK, everyone thought Eowyn was dead till Prince Imhrahil discovered otherwise. Eowyn was there, but unconcious. (Perhaps when designing the vignette they were thinking of the movie?) The Swan Knights vignette is super. I really like all the dragon box sets, but it does seem a bit redundant to have another Smaug. However; one might ask how far along in the design process it is? It's difficult to ask Mithril to abandon that project if they've already invested time and money in it. Possibly they could shelf it for a while, but to abandon it might prove a waste of resources. (Trying to look at it from Mithril's point of view.) Now I rather curious what kind of pose is in the works for the new Smaug. There are other box sets that would be more attractive to the dedicated Mithril collectors (Hobbit Trolls, 13 Dwarfs from the Hobbit), but they may be thinking another dragon will appeal to more general collector? It really is a complement to Mithril that the devoted collectors are so rabidly awaiting new releases. I'll be one of those with a "Death of Smaug" - my Vengence of Smaug "died" due to metal fatigue. I am making a diorama out of it. I'll send pictures when I'm done, Michael. Don't be too hard on Michael (not that anyone has so far). He probably doesn't have much say in which figures are ultimately picked for production.

Just a couple things I've been wondering about: What's the deal with M16? Why is she so hard to find and so expensive? Was there a shortened run or something? Why is there Elrohir (M339) but no Elladan in the M series? Just curious.

Sorry, I wanted to put this in the topic of feedback for the new website, but I couldn't find how to reply while reading it. I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, but not that long. Anyway, I had asked for the Oliphant for Christmas and my mother-in-law tried to find it on Mithril's site but couldn't. The site looks wonderful, and the only thing I would suggest would be a product search for those unfamiliar with Mithril and its site. Just a suggestion. I will be getting the Oliphant - she said to buy it and she'll reimburse me. I hope to buy it from someone in the US, but US retailers are getting hard to find, especially with new stuff. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Wendy

I'm not quite a new painter - I've been painting for almost 3 years now, I think. (Time flies when you're having fun!) I think the starter kits are a good idea, and so far the selections have been pretty good. (I did buy the first one.) Perhaps alternating starter kits with and without paint included might be a good idea? And maybe the next one can have a bad guy/guys in it? Not everyone likes the good guys. I prefer good guys myself, but if the bad guys are cool enough, I'll buy them (i.e. Vengence of Smaug and any wargs). Just a thought or two.

Great Oliphant! The proportions seem just as described in the book. (Not insanely big with too many tusks.) GW's Mumak is $65 and I believe pretty much all plastic, so 40 Euro is more than competitive (well, plus shipping ). The box is nice because it shows the people and hobbits to scale.

It's been a little quiet in the forum lately... I just went on a shipping spree at a hobby store. (Thankfully, I had a 20% off coupon.) That fake water is really expensive! I really hope I do it right the first time. I decided on the Woodland Scenics Realistic Water. I would have gone with the other kind that you melt, but the bag said not to try to use it in large amounts. Now I get to experiment with it on my Riddles in the Dark diorama before attempting the Dead Smaug. Does anyone know if you can make a wall of sorts with it? If I try and hold it back to form a wall, will it stick to whatever I'm using to hold it back? On a side note, I bought some old, badly painted Mithrils. What's the best way to strip them and start over? Or is it better to try to paint over them? (I have some Star Wars minis for my brother that need to be stripped also.) Thanks for all the help! ;D

Well, I removed two bases from their respective figures. It didn't take as long as I thought, though there was much filing on the feet. So far so good.
By the way, what would be the best source of fake water, and lots of it? Since my Vengence of Smaug completely bent and fell apart, I decided to put him in a dead pose on the bottom of the lake with pieces of Laketown under and around him. I would like to have him under water (in the shallows, so probably a couple inches deep), so what would be the best kind of product to use that I could still see the figure?

You hollow out the area with the reins?!? Wow, that's dedication! I hadn't even thought of doing that. Though now that you mention it, it would look better... I'll have to give that a try. The figures I'll be using for the diorama aren't really expensive ones, mostly from the M300's Rangers of Ithilien. I have Faramir almost painted (except I still can't figure out how the quiver should fit in the hole on the bottom of his cape ), but I'll have to dig through my other minis to see exactly what I do have. I might hold off and do a bigger diorama when I get the Oliphant. It's in the mail, I hope... I'll give the systematic base removal you suggested a try (since I lack a jeweler's saw). If I screw up, I guess I can make feet with green stuff. Thanks for the advice!

Well, two tries and almost six months later, I finally assembled Ranger and Haradan Fighting... ;D
Now for my question, which I am almost afraid to ask - Is there an easy way to remove figures from the base for diorama purposes or would it be easier to just put stuff (gravel, grass, etc) over the base to make it look like it's not there? After assembling Ranger and Haradan, I found a really neat flat piece of split rock that I'm thinking of using for a diorama of Rangers and Haradan's having a little skirmish. I would leave some areas rock and put grass and gravel in other areas to give it a little color. (Ranger and Haradan didn't really fit well on the base anyway, so I'm just going to pull it off.) Now I just need more Rangers.
Happy February!

Well, the Eagle is no worse for the wear. The tree is bent closer to the orc now. My husband isn't too enthusiastic about my painting, but he does like Mithrils better than Games Workshop. He'd be happier if I'd sell some though.
I'll have to send a picture of the eagle attacking orc to Michael (along with some others) when I finish. I just have to figure out how to get the file size small enough.

Thank you for all the help regarding the assembly of Great Eagle attacking Orc. I did get it assembled, then my husband sat on it. However, it worked out ok because upon reassembling it, it looks more natural because the tree isn't perfectly strait anymore. ;D Ori, your diorama is great! Thanks for sharing the link! I seem to be deficient in assembly ability...Now, I'm trying to assemble M384, Ranger and Haradan Fighting. It just doesn't seem to fit correctly no matter what I try. Has anyone else had diffulty putting this figure together? Any words of wisdom? Thanks in advance for any help. Wendy
